Ad specifications
Sponsor blocks on Wildcattin stay inside these limits. Events cover Permian Basin. A sponsor is one bounded block. It does not replace the page or the letter.
Accepted formats
PNG, JPG, SVG. One image. The file is at most 150 KB.
Logo size
At most 200 by 100 pixels. The logo sits inside the sponsor block. It is not a banner and it is not a background.
Headline and body
The headline is at most 70 characters. The body is one or two sentences, at most 220 characters.
Link
One link, and it starts with http:// or https://. The body does not add a second link.
Alt text
A logo needs alt text, at most 140 characters, describing the logo.
Approval
The block is reviewed before the run date. It does not go on the site or in the letter until that review is done.
Run dates
One sponsor per newsletter issue. A newsletter sponsor runs in one Friday note, through that issue's date. A monthly site sponsor runs in the footer from its start date through its end date. Limited to 3 monthly sponsors per site, or one exclusive sponsor. A featured listing is labeled Sponsored only on the sites that bought it, through the end date on that site. After that date it stays on the board as a normal listing.
How many
Short pages, under about 800 words, show one or two sponsor units. A long guide may show up to 4 when the units are spaced apart. No page shows more than 4. A site features at most 4 listings at once.
On the screen
A sponsor unit is at most 25% of the viewport height. The page caps that with CSS (max-height: 25vh). The next sponsor unit starts a full viewport lower, so two units do not appear on the same screen.
Which site
Listings are shared by county. Before a listing is featured, check which sites include that county. The Sponsored label shows only on the boards named for that placement.
Sponsored label
The block is labeled Sponsored. It does not take over the page or the letter. A social post for a paid sponsor or listing starts with #ad.
